Since Summer has come and gone and Fall is on its way, I thought I would share a little about the progress we made on our yard.
What you can’t see is the old tree stump right near the For Sale sign. Below is a picture of the stoop with stuff growing around it. Just a confused mess.
And also this right near the front window these decided to pop up:
Talk about hodge podge. I actually thought every single one of those plants were weeds until flowers started blooming.
They definitely HAD TO GO! I mean clearly ….
I relocated the peony bush to the back of the house, but everything else was completely ripped out. For a while we literally had nothing at all, see below.
Then, we decided to start with just a little landscaping. We knew we wanted to plant two trees so we did some research and some shopping. We decided on a Camelot Crabapple and a Chanticleer Pear Tree.
Both are easy to care for.
Both flower in the spring.
Both change color in the fall. Win.
I absolutely fell in love with the Camelot Crabapple tree. How can you not? Everyone needs on of these in their yard.
Here are our trees after we bought them! The Chanticleer was pruned before we bought it. Supposedly it will fill out quickly. Let’s hope! (haha!). They are quite small and skinny :)
We also bought 3 boxwoods to go in front of the big window.
My parents were also redoing their yard and gave us these green’spider’ plants! We decided to plant them along our walkway.
Here we are in progress… Isn’t that tree just so adorable? I cant wait to watch it continue to grow!
We had the stump professionally removed.
Our stick figure tree.
The spider plants bloom purple flowers. We also hope to plant additional flowers to add some more color. So far we are happy with the clean trimmed look.
